MARILEE SIPSKI, M.D., PH.D., MMM
Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Sipski joined the company in 1997 as its medical director. A Board Certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Sipski received her training at Ohio State University, and she completed her medical internship at Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Her qualifications also include a university appointment at Yale University School of Medicine, where she was a clinical instructor at the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. Her hospital appointments include her work as director of outpatient department; the director of brain injury program; and chairman of the utilization review committee and Executive Committee and she established the industrial rehabilitation program at Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation, Welkind facility. Prior to this, Dr. Sipski was director of physical medicine and rehabilitation with Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford, Connecticut; director of TBI Program at Gaylord Hospital; medical director at Gaylord/Yale - New Haven Rehabilitation Center; and staff physiatrist at Gaylord Hospital and consultant to the State of Ohio Bureau of Disability Determination.
Dr. Sipski was past president and secretary of the Connecticut Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Committee assignments also include her participation on the Medical Executive Committee at Kessler Institution for Rehabilitation, QA and Strategic planning committees at Gaylord and consultant for the State of Ohio Social Security Disability Determination, Industrial Rehabilitation Program at Kessler - Welkind facility. She is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and board certified by the American College of Managed Care Medicine. She serves on the Physician Advisory Council of the American Managed Healthcare Organization and is listed in Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
Dr. Sipski recently earned a Master of Medical Management (MMM) from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. The school's prestigious group of students includes physician executives from various health care organizations across the U.S. The MMM, a one-year program, prepares physicians to take on executive-level management responsibilities within the health care industry. In addition, the Consumers' Research Council of America has named Dr. Sipski one of "America's Top Physicians." Consumers' Research Council of America compiles a list of physicians throughout the United States by utilizing criteria based on each year the physician has been in practice, education and continuing education, membership in professional medical associations, completing an approved residency program and passing a rigid examination on that specialty.
